Every day, a huge number of Canadian people visit thousands of websites. Every day new brands and companies appear on the Internet that appeal to Internet users and that’s why website development services in Canada are so popular to this day and why platforms like Wix are becoming major players. Each country has its favorites – sites that are visited more often than others. 2020 is right around the corner so we figured it would be interesting to have a quick look at what were the most popular websites in Canada this year. We analyzed the data from Similar Web‘s database to create these charts for you.

To get to the 100th place in this ranking, your site will need hundreds of millions  of visits per month! The ranking shows how people all over Canada look for information, what services they use and how they spend time on the Internet.

But please keep in mind that this is the rating of the most visited websites in Canada, the data doesn’t show any information on app traffic. Brands that extend to different platforms or serve the majority of their users through the application will not necessarily occupy a high place in this list. As a result, you will notice the absence of companies like Snapchat and social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram don’t look as big as they actually are.

Search engines provide the connection between websites on the Internet, and that’s why they make up the majority of website traffic in the top 100 rankings. As we can see, Google is absolutely dominating the top positions. That there are separate positions for google.com and google.ca and Google also owns the most popular video hosting platform YouTube. So if you do the math – Google’s share is 26.6% of all Canadian traffic, let that sink in.
